Overview

My wife and I make our home in Southern California. We live about twenty minutes from the coast in Los Angeles. Whenever I want to go anywhere outside of the Los Angeles area, I get to drive through a good chunk of California. I like to take new roads all of the time, but in California, I’m running out! I guess it’s time to do a couple of books.

California has it all. 840 miles of coastline, iconic lighthouses, rugged mountains, tons of wildlife, mountain lakes, barren deserts, rich farmland, and don’t forget those incredible redwoods. To offer a taste of this magnificent state, I’ve created a visual road trip for you.

This state is so big that even the AAA map has to be cut in two. Well – if it works for the AAA, it works for me. This book starts where my Northern California book left off. We have flipped the map and will begin by continuing to make our way south through the Eastern Sierras. The southern side of the map includes Death Valley National Park and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. We will visit those iconic parks as well as some random desert locations. We’ll drive up the coast and into the rich farmland of the central valleys. We will even stop and visit the San Diego Wild Animal Park, both because they are really great people and have saved countless animals from extinction and because I REALLY love animals.

The end of our journey will find us at the Northern edge of the Southern map.
Northern California with pick up again where we leave off. Ready? Let’s go.
